What are Occupational Services?
Welcome to Fit Health Occupational Services, where we provide several services to help your business set up Physical Demands Analysis (PDA), screen applicants, and assess current employees for modified duties and post-incident issues.
Occupational health care refers to services that assist employers, workers, or their representatives in ensuring that the workplace is safe and healthy according to accepted occupational safety and health guidelines and requirements. As per the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1970, it is the employer's responsibility to provide a safe and healthy workplace for employees.
Why Employers Should Have a PDA
Establishing a PDA allows both employer and employee to better understand the job requirements and risks. Utilizing Occupational Services programs mitigates employee issues before they become recordable injuries or work absences.
Fit Health offers five programs that provide different benefits to employers and employees.
Pre-Employment Screening
helps companies with highly physical jobs to find the best applicant for a position. The tests determine if an individual is fit to work in a specific role within the company by reviewing their medical history and assessing their physical fitness.
SureHire Testing Facilities
provides drug and alcohol screening and physical and fitness testing for existing employees. Utilizing these programs mitigated employee issues before they became recordable injuries or work absences.
Progressive Goal Attainment Programs
help employees return to work gradually after an absence due to injury, loss, or health concern. It is an evidence-based treatment program to help reduce disability associated with pain, depression, cancer, and other chronic health conditions.
Functional Capacity Evaluations
evaluate an individual's ability to perform work-related activities to get employees back working. The assessor can then determine the next employment steps: modified work duties, limited work hours, or work conditioning sessions.
24-hour Emergency Testing
Services provide support to clients when things don't go according to plan. The services offered include Breath Alcohol Testing, Urine & Oral Fluid Drug Testing, and Mobile/Onsite Testing.
We Create Custom Solutions
for Employers & Employees
Fit Health can create custom solutions for each industry, job role, and employee, such as rehabilitation programs for specific job roles. We are Sure to Hire Certified and offer a variety of post-incident and other 24/7 emergency testing services to support our clients.
To get your Occupational Services Program underway, someone from our team will meet with you to help determine your required services. For pre-employment testing services, we will come into the workplace and perform a PDA on each position you want testing for. Using the PDA, we will design a fitness test that all new applicants must complete before beginning work. Each test will have a minimum requirement set in each area the applicant must meet.

For pre-employment testing services, we will come into the workplace and perform a Physical Demands Analysis (PDA) on each position you want testing for.
If you have a pre-existing PDA that was completed within the last 3 years and is still a current reflection of the position, we can use that to build a test for new applicants to complete.
Call the clinic to make an appointment for your fit to work testing.
These tests are generally 20 minutes long and will test applicants on their lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending etc.
A report will be emailed to the appropriate supervisors every day that a test occurs, so the employer receives all results before the end of the day at Fit Health.

Step 1: Call the clinic to make an appointment for your fit-to-work testing.
Step 2: When attending your meeting, make sure to bring your letter of offer and a piece of valid, government-issued photo ID.
Step 3: Perform the testing, then wait for the results from the company to contact you.
